ACCEPTING 2023 HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS

The Minnesota Masters Swimming Hall of Fame Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2023 Class of Hall of Famers. This will be the Hall of Fame’s tenth year. We plan to have a fun induction celebration sometime around October, at the annual dinner meeting. Please see the Minnesota Masters Website under Hall of Fame for interesting historical stories of the past honorees.

Nominations are being accepted until August 1, 2023. Then the HOF Committee will review past and current nominees in creating this year’s Class.

To be considered, a swimmer or coach must be registered on a Club or Workout Group within the Minnesota LMSC (past or present) for at least ten years. Nominees should have:

  1. a strong swimming record of top performance; or
  2. a long-term coach with a track record of coaching championship and/or national-class swimmers; or
  3. those with truly extraordinary contributions to the Minnesota Masters and/or USMS organizations.

If you know of an individual who has made contributions to the betterment of Masters swimming through long-term outstanding swimming performance, coaching performance or volunteerism within Minnesota Masters and would like to nominate that person, please provide answers to the “Information Needed” below and email it to: This email address is being protected from spambots.   • In approximately what years has this person participated in Minnesota’s LMSC?
  •  Why do you think this person should be a Hall of Famer? (This can include intangible qualities like generosity, encouragement to others, willingness to fill out relays, volunteerism, etc.).
  • Any history or stories you care to give? Stories are particularly valuable when illustrating intangible qualities.
  • How did this person impact you and others in your swimming group or team?
  • Any other information you wish to share?

Please tell us your first-hand experience. The HOF Committee will do the research on the nominee’s swimming performance record. Please do not “interview” the candidate, a HOF committee member will do that.

There are 1,172 registered swimmers in the Minnesota LMSC and over 60,000 nationwide. Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to join. No prior competitive swimming experience is necessary.
