Nominations open for MN Masters Board positions

We will be electing our Secretary, Treasurer, and one at-large position at the annual meeting.  You can nominate yourself or another person using this form. Nominations close on Wednesday, Oct. 26, so please act quickly.


Sprint Meet Registration is now open

Our annual sprint meet will be held at Minnetonka Middle School East on November 13.  Registration is open until 9:30 on the morning of the meet, but discounted early bird registration runs through November 4.  Use these links for meet information and registration.  When you register for the meet you can also sign up for the annual dinner meeting for yourself and guests.

Save the date! The Minnesota Masters Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 13. Food, Fun, and Elections! 

You can sign up for the meeting and add guests for dinner when you sign up for the Sprint Meet.

Fitness Challenges

There are a lot of ongoing fitness challenges to help keep you motivated in your swimming.  Some of these are sponsored by USMS, some are not.  Many are to support good causes.  Let us know if you are aware of others to add to the list.

  • Swim.com 1 mile swim chalenge - October 1-31 Information   Registration    Split Sheet
  • USMS 3000/6000 yard virtual championship - Sept. 15 - Nov. 15
  • Go the Distance - Jan. 1 -Dec. 31
  • Active.com 2022 Endurance Swim Challenge - Jan 1 - Dec. 31
  • Thanksgiving weekend special swims - We expect several groups to have special workouts this weekend - probably Thanksgiving morning in Apple Valley and Minnetonka, Friday morning in Hopkins.
  • Brute Squad swims - for the truly brutish, swim a 200 Fly, 400IM, and 1650 in succession.  For the not quite so crazy, 100 Fly, 200IM, and 500.  This event typically runs from mid-November through the end of the year sponsored by Davis Aquatics Masters.  We are working on organizing a special session to swim either version and will provide news when those are set.

Minnesota Masters Swimming LMSC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to a healthy swimming lifestyle for adult swimmers within 87 counties in Minnesota and 3 in Western Wisconsin. It is the local governing body for United States Masters Swimming (USMS).

There are 1,172 registered swimmers in the Minnesota LMSC and over 60,000 nationwide. Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to join. No prior competitive swimming experience is necessary.
